 love people, Greatest Command, love your neighbor
Basic Training: It's a period of physical and mental conditioning, teaching recruits the fundamentals of military life and preparing them for the demands of service. This training includes physical fitness, weapons handling, combat skills, discipline, and adapting to the military lifestyle.
Becoming a Christ Follower is much the same. We need to know the basics.  That led to the vision of Impact Church many years ago. 
Jesus was asked a question:  What is the greatest “command” in the Law (Torah)?  Jesus replied and quoted the Torah. 
A command is not an option, it is a directive, a must.  
Jesus said to Love God with all your heart, with all of your soul, and with all of your mind. The is the first and greatest “command.” The second is like it, Love your neighbor as yourself,
So the greatest command or “vision” we can ever have is to Love God.  If you Love God, you will Love People.  Loving people leads us to Serve the World.
